by Christian Müller (Kitsunet), Rens Admiraal (Freelance)

Friday, 24.05.2013, New York II, 10:00-10:30 Uhr

TYPO3 Neos is the next generation content management of the TYPO3 Community. The main focus of the system is seamless content editing, ease of development, an accessible interface and embracing new technology. Content editing of the next generation is done where the editor is most familiar with: right on the website, in the actual style applied to the content when it would be published. The editor is not limited to specific device types, a modern (mobile) browser is enough, and in the future also smaller screens can be supported by mobile apps.

TYPO3 Neos is based on the PHP application framework from the TYPO3 family: Flow. On the moment of writing Neos is still in alpha state.

In this talk a demo and explanations of the main principles in TYPO3 Neos will be given, followed by a sneak peak in the roadmap.

About the author Christian Müller:

I am a freelancing developer and trainer mostly doing TYPO3 related projects. Since some years now contributing to TYPO3 Flow and Neos and part of both core teams. I live in Bonn with a pile of books, my two cats and my wife.

About the author Rens Admiraal:

Rens Admiraal (31) is a freelance developer & trainer/coach.

Around the age of 14 Rens started 'developing' by analizing code snippets on ancient computers. By just accepting new challenges Rens learnt multiple languages, and worked on a wide variety of web projects. Now Rens is a FLOW3 / TYPO3 Phoenix Core member and works mostly on the javascript part.

Working at multiple agencies Rens as seen how development can be done in a structured or completely unstructered ways. This slowly moved attention from only development to continues integration, testing and code quality. Now Rens helps integrating development environments enabling / learning developers to work with clean code, and (automatically) giving the developer feedback he needs to improve his skills even more.

Rens lives in Ede (Netherlands) with his wife and 3 sons, plays the bass and likes to release some pressure on a (beach)volleyball field.
