Nürnberg, 22.02.2012
The RootCamp Berlin is a so-called „unconference“, which aim it is to offer an open forum for intensive knowledge exchange, networking and socialising to the participants. All contents, such as discussions and presentations from camp participants are self-created.
The organisation of the RootCamp initially occurred due to the Open Source service provider NETWAYS PLC, which is based in Nürnberg, and is actively supported and promoted by volunteers and sponsors. Anyone who wants to get involved is welcome to join.
According to the basic principle of all BarCamps there are no „spectators” in the classical sense at the RootCamp. All participants can hold a session themselves and thus contribute in the success of the event. The presentations and discussions during the first camp day are fixed by the participants. The thereby emerging sessions build the program of the event.
The RootCamp thematically dedicates itself specifically the Open Source field for admins. Thereby it focusses on design, construction and operation of IT platforms for applications and websites on the basis of Open Source software. The LinuxTag 2012 thus builds the appropriate contextual framework for the RootCamp and presents, especially on Friday (25. May 2012), exciting administrator topics in the technical track of the conference program.
There will be a small participant allowance for the RootCamp, 15 € for the participation on Friday and Saturday and 10 € for the participation on Saturday only. The registration is carried out via pre-registration on our website: http://rootcamp.mixxt.de. All further information can also be found there.
