Plan 9, ein Raspberry Pi und Linux

Das Betriebssystem Plan 9, erschaffen u.a. von den original Unix Erfindern (Rob Pike, Ken Thompson, Dave Presotto und Phil Winterbottom, unter Mitarbeit von Dennis Ritchie), perfektioniert die mit Unix angefangenden Ideen (alles ist eine Datei). Mit Plan 9 lassen sich Systeme erstellen, die sich nahtlos über viele Rechner erstrecken.

Plan 9 ist seit 2012 auch auf dem Minirechner "Raspberry Pi" verfügbar.

Der Vortrag gibt eine Übersicht über Plan 9, erklärt worin sich Plan 9 von Unix/Linux Systemen unterscheidet, zeigt wie Plan 9 Innovationen auch unter Linux nutzbar sind.

Über den Autor Carsten Strotmann:

Carsten has worked with midrange systems (AS/400), Unix installations, and PC networks since 1990. From 1997 to 2000 he lead the Internet and Security Team at GE Capital IT Solutions in Frankfurt, Germany. His work included Security Installations and Networking Concepts/Projects for many Germany and international Enterprise Customers.

His main areas of expertise are Operating System, Programming Languages and TCP/IP Networking (esp. DNS and DHCP). Carsten also does some hacking on Forth Systems and vintage Computers (6502, 8086/8080 and Z80 based)
